Child Health & Wellness Fair A Great Success!

Have you heard? Our second annual Child Health & Wellness Fair, held on June 15th, was a great success! 129 people, 42 families, and 68 children came through our doors to get free health screenings and valuable information from community partners, plus a delicious free lunch from Grand Savings Bank. Sunshine School had 9 booths offering free resources, training opportunities, hearing, vision, occupational therapy and speech-language therapy screens to children. These screens happened live and provided instant results to families. Access to free screenings and resources can be challenging for families and may require them to go to many different professionals in the area. Screenings can also be costly and time-consuming since they often require a referral and appointment. At this fair, we were proud to offer all of this valuable help for free, under one roof. Thanks to our generous community partners we had 10 booths offering free resources, education, giveaways and games to families. We were also excited to have several therapy dogs and a therapy pony in attendance from Helping Paws of NWA.

Many of our staff volunteered their time and energy to make this fair possible for our community. This was truly a team effort! I am grateful to be a part of an organization that has so many people willing to help in all the stages of making our second Child Health & Wellness Fair a great success! We look forward to next year and helping even more families!
