CELEBRATING 2021-2022

CEO Jarrod Reeves shares accomplishments from Sunshine School's 2021-2022 school year

Please join us as we celebrate the end of our 2021 - 22 school year! We are excited about the progress we made with students, classes, and programs this year and we want to share some of those successes with you, our faithful friends and partners.

We embraced the use of technology at the beginning of the year for our virtual Art Show event. The incredible success of our 2021 Art Show is also a testament to how much of the world has adjusted to virtual interaction. Thanks to our brilliant student artists, our local NWA artist contributors, and our sponsors and donors, we raised $65,000!

In April 2022, we so enjoyed hosting our Sunshine Gala, seeing many faces in person we have missed since 2019. It was really a joy to have our community together again as we raised over $400,000 for Sunshine School & Development Center – what an incredible turnout and result.

We truly appreciate the support of each of you who attended and contributed to our 2022

Sunshine Gala.

The Sunshine School & Development Center was also awarded several grants this year, totaling over $173,000 in grant funds. Grants were awarded from Arvest Foundation, Baum Foundation, Clorox, Garver, La-Z-Boy, McKinney Charitable Trust, Summit Community Care, United Way, Willard & Pat Walker Charitable Foundation, and the Walmart Foundation. The entirety of these funds will flow to Early Intervention Day Treatment, Applied Behavorial Analysis, Transportation, and Nursing, allowing us to enhance Sunshine School’s services. It is a testament to our mission’s purpose that these organizations value supporting our community, and we are so grateful for their on-going support of our mission.

One of the things I am most excited about is how we continue to attract talented, dedicated staff to join our team. Thanks to our exceptional tenured staff’s willingness to help on-board our newer staff, we have added one early intervention classroom, with plans to add additional classrooms in our 2022-23 year. Our staff, program expansions, and awarded grants all contribute to the ways we assist people in growing and living fuller lives and allow us the opportunity to serve even more families and students than ever before.

I am so proud of how successfully our team has delivered another school year. I am looking forward to the future growth and success of all our programs and the on-going impact the Sunshine team is committed to making in Northwest Arkansas next year and beyond.

Thank you as always for helping us go far – your partnership is invaluable.
