OUR SERVICES

Sunshine School & Development Center has been serving the Northwest Arkansas community since 1958.  We offer a range of services in order to benefit every child and client that we serve. At Sunshine School, you will find a team ready to carry out our mission to shatter limitations to enable people touched by disability, serving their unique journey through advocacy, therapy, and education.

THERAPY

Sunshine School offers comprehensive evaluations and intervention for infants and youth of all ages.

We offer a range of therapy services through our Applied Behavior Analysis Program, Behavioral /Mental Health Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Speech-Language Therapy.

Sunshine School therapies may include the following: evaluations, skilled intervention plans, intervention services, ongoing evaluations of progress, ongoing communication with medical professionals, use of specialized equipment, parent/family education and consultations.

​

Our therapists maintain a high standard of service and quality. They are highly skilled, board-certified, state-licensed, and maintain continuing education requirements.

​

 Our nutrition program provides meals to students and our specialized nursing team coordinates an individualized health care and/or dietary plan for your child.

​

To evaluate your child’s need for therapeutic services they will need to participate in a standardized assessment administered by a licensed and certified therapist.

EDUCATION

Sunshine School provides high-quality early childhood education for children 12 months through 6 years of age.

Sunshine School provides education to both children who qualify for Early Intervention Day Treatment (EIDT) services and those who are “typically” developing. We are proud to be certified with Better Beginnings from Arkansas Division of Early Child Care at a 3-star rating, their highest rating.

Our education program provides a wide range of experiences and opportunities in a nurturing, stimulating and educational environment. We focus on each child’s individual strengths while promoting their physical, cognitive, self-help, social-emotional and communication development. Sunshine School utilizes the Adventures in Learning curriculum.

 

Our transportation team connects our families to our services by transporting students all over Benton County.

Supportive Living

SUPPORTIVE LIVING

Sunshine School provides supportive living for clients of all ages through the Arkansas Medicaid Waiver program.

Sunshine School & Development Center provides support in many ways to our clients, children and families. Our staff is highly trained and ready to provide quality service to our clients and empower them to live independently and be a part of the NWA community. We strive to individualize services to meet the needs of the individual.
